ELECTRIC BOATING
At ExploMar, we believe that the future is here—and it's electric. Our commitment to sustainability starts with electric boating, and we're excited to lead the charge in creating a cleaner, quieter, and more enjoyable experience on the water.
Zero Emission Is Now
We hope to make progress for zero emissions by electric boating, significantly reducing greenhouse gases and other pollutants that contribute to climate change and poor air quality.
Life Protection Is Now
Minimizing pollution is protection. Electric boats help eliminate the leakage of oil, fuel, and other pollutants that can contaminate waterways, protecting marine life and ecosystems.
Nature Preservation Is Now
Electric boating contributes to the preservation of natural landscapes, reducing the impact of boating activities on sensitive marine and coastal environments.
Enjoyable Boating Is Now
We hope to provide a more peaceful and enjoyable experience on the water without the noise and vibration associated with traditional engines.
Unlike traditional outboard motors that use gasoline or diesel and are typically considered separately, electric outboard systems are powered by electricity.
An electric outboard system encompasses a combination of components and technologies, including the outboard motor itself, the battery, the control system, the charger, and other supporting elements.
Why we think in a systematical way?
1. Integrated performance and optimization
Considering the entire system ensures that compatibility between all components. Each component is matched and calibrated for maximum performance, efficiency, and reliability.
2. Easier approach to smart boating
Built on a complete electric outboard system, our smart driving technology gives you comprehensive control over your boating experience, from managing energy consumption and range to delivering over 200 diagnostic insights. This guarantees a safer, more efficient, and more enjoyable time on the water.
3. Simplified maintenance and support
The components are designed to work together, simplifying diagnostics, maintenance, and repair. An integrated system offers better support and warranties compared to a collection of separate, mismatched parts.
4. Cost efficiency over time
While the initial cost of an electric outboard system may be higher than that of purchasing a single motor, it offers greater long-term cost efficiency. By reducing energy consumption and minimizing maintenance and repair expenses, the complete system ultimately delivers more value for the investment.
At ExploMar, innovation drives us forward. After introducing the lightest 300hp electric outboard, we are now proud to offer a lineup that includes 300hp, 150hp, and 70hp electric outboards. Here’s a closer look at the cutting-edge technologies that make them exceptional:
1. Axial Flux Permanent Magnet Motor
Powered by one of the highest energy density motors available today, typically used in high-performance electric vehicles and first applied in the marine industry, WAVE 300 and WAVE 150+ delivers outstanding output torque and rapid acceleration.
2. No Clutch Design
By reversing the motor’s current direction, we achieve forward and reverse propeller rotation without the need for a gearbox clutch. This design simplifies the structure, reduces failure rates, and lowers maintenance costs.
3. Closed Cooling System
WAVE 300 and WAVE 150+ are equipped with a closed cooling system, using coolant to keep the motor cool.
This prevents seawater from entering the engine, eliminating concerns about internal corrosion and enhancing durability.
4. Powered by High Energy Density Battery
The battery pack for WAVE 300 and WAVE 150+ uses high-energy density NCM cells to deliver the power and features a dual thermal management system. This system effectively manages heat during battery operation and charging, avoiding thermal runaway and ensuring consistent performance.
5. Smart Captain System
Integrating advanced electric vehicle control technology into boating, our Smart Captain System unlocks new possibilities, such as automatic U-turns, intelligent parking, and more to make electric boating smarter and safer.
Battery
Our high energy density battery contributes to both boosting your boat and saving your space.
The battery pack used by our WAVE 300 reaches 125kWh, whose energy density is higher than 180Wh/kg, achieving the standard of electric cars. However, the system weight is only 680kg, even including the Power Distribution Unit!
The reason behind this is the energy density. The definition of battery energy density is the ratio of the energy that can be charged to the mass or volume of the energy storage medium for a given electrochemical energy storage device. The former is called "mass energy density"(Unit: Wh/kg) and the latter is called "volume energy density"(Unit: Wh/l).
The higher the energy density of the battery, the more electricity can be stored per unit volume or weight. So with the same amount of electricity, the entire battery pack can be lighter or smaller, which means that under the same power system requirements, it is more energy-saving and more space-saving.
Lithium, with a low density of 0.534 g/cm³,is the lightest metal on the periodic tableand an excellent choice for batteries.
1. Safety is a top priority. NCM lithium battery addresses this by incorporating improved features that minimize the risk of thermal runaway and overheating.
2. The NCM lithium battery, with its high energy density, boasts a higher energy storage capacity per unit volume by combining nickel, cobalt, and manganese in varying ratios, making it ideal for premium electric vehicles.
3. NCM lithium battery exhibits a longer cycle life, meaning it can endure a higher number of charge and discharge cycles before significant degradation occurs, making it a cost-effective and durable solution.
The use cost of operating outboard motors is 10-25 times the purchase cost, while the energy consumption cost of electricity is only 1/6 of that of oil. This means that investing in a battery pack can result in overall cost savings within 1-2 years. The price of a battery pack is equivalent to the cost of refuelling a 500-liter fuel tank 50 times. The best part? Electric outboard motors do not produce emissions, unlike gasoline-powered motors which emit 57.5 tons of carbon dioxide.

It's natural to feel anxious about new things, but there's nothing to worry about. Our SmartCaptain intelligent system has a range reminder, and you can check the status of your battery from the screen interface. Additionally, the SmartCaptain system starts limiting power at 20% battery capacity, reminding you to return at a more economical speed.
We use the same charging protocol and charger interface as electric vehicles.
If you're a personal user, you can choose to use an electric vehicle DC charging station for charging when you tow the boat to your yard or parking space, or you can use our equipped 7kW portable
charger for charging.
If you need to charge at the dock, you can use our equipped 7kW DC charger and the existing yacht dock 3-6kW charging port.
And if you're a commercial user with your exclusive dock, we can provide you with a 40-240kW fast charging station construction plan for your dock, providing a more efficient fast charging solution.
We believe that as we continue to live in a smart and electric age, the infrastructure for battery
charging will become more popular, making charging more convenient.
